SCBinder is a free keybinding and joystick tuning tool. See every stick, throttle and pedal as a real product photo, click any button, pick an action. Conflict warnings, per-axis tuning, automatic backups and an in-game overlay included.

Star Citizen's own keybinding screen is a long list. SCBinder shows your setup the way you hold it.
Every button, hat, switch and axis is a labelled block with a line to the control on the photo, and it shows what is bound to it. No more guessing what "button 22" is.
Click a control, search the action list, pick one. Controls with several actions show the first plus a +N chip, and a hover card lists the rest, grouped by game area.
Click a row, press that button on your stick and SCBinder records it. Standard button numbers are pre-filled, so most people never need to.
Browse by task (flying, weapons, mining...) or exactly as the game lists them. Search by name, description or bound input.
If one input is bound to two actions that can be live at the same time, SCBinder tells you and shows both, so you find the clash before you find it in flight.
Deadzone per physical axis, response curve and invert, with a live marker that follows your stick as you move it.
A panel over the game with Layout, Bindings and Tuning. It snaps to the screen edge, collapses to a thin bar to give the screen back, and has click-through so clicks reach the game.
A full-screen reference on the monitor you choose: every device side by side, always up while you fly. Same pages as the main window.
Not just sticks. Bind keys (with Alt, Ctrl and Shift chords), mouse buttons and gamepad buttons in the same screen, so one place covers every input.
Real screenshots from the app, using a VKB Gladiator, side extension module and T-Rudder.

Three steps. Your game's default profile is never touched.
Any joystick, throttle, pedal set or gamepad that Windows can see can be bound and tuned. These come with ready-made layouts and pictures:
Layouts for makers other than VKB follow public product information. If a button number differs on your unit, use Map controls once and it is remembered. Wheels, pedals and shifters are supported, and early users are helping to confirm them.
Version 0.1.1 for Windows 10 and 11, 154 MB. Free.
Run the installer and follow the steps. It adds a desktop shortcut and an uninstaller.
The installer is not code-signed, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can check the file against the SHA-256 below.

No, it is an unofficial community tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Cloud Imperium Games or Roberts Space Industries. It only reads and writes the same keybinding profile files the game uses. It does not touch the game's programs or memory.
Never. The game default is shown as a read-only column, and your first change asks you to save a new profile. A backup is made before every save.
The game needs to reload the profile after you save: in the game, open Options → Keybindings and load your profile.
Probably. Any joystick Windows can see is read directly, including its buttons, hats and axes. Without a ready-made layout it still appears in Bindings and Tuning, and you can map it with Map controls. If something does not work, Settings → Diagnostics saves a report you can send to the author.
Run Star Citizen in borderless windowed mode. Press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to show or hide the overlay, and use the arrow bar at its top to collapse it.
It is free and has no ads, accounts or tracking. It does not send your profile or any data anywhere.
